SERUM ELECTROLYTES/UREA/CREATINE IN PREGNANT WOMEN WITH MALARIA PARASITEMIA
Abstract:
Malaria remains a significant public health concern, particularly in regions where pregnant women are at heightened risk of infection. This study investigates the serum electrolyte levels and renal function parameters, including urea and creatinine, in pregnant women with malaria parasitemia. A total of [number] pregnant women diagnosed with malaria parasitemia and [number] non-infected pregnant women as controls were enrolled in the study. Serum electrolyte concentrations, urea, and creatinine levels were measured and compared between the two groups. Additionally, the association between malaria parasitemia and renal function parameters was assessed using regression analysis. The results revealed [findings], suggesting potential alterations in electrolyte balance and renal function in pregnant women with malaria parasitemia. These findings underscore the importance of monitoring serum electrolytes and renal function in pregnant women with malaria to prevent adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. Further research is warranted to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and optimize clinical management strategies for this vulnerable population.
