ROLE OF COOPERATIVE SECTOR IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT
ABSTRACT
Rural Development is the base of Cooperative philosophy. India is the country of rural masses where rural development is very much required. Rural Development means development of Rural Entrepreneurship (RE) and Rural Employment (RE) which has positive partial correlation. At the same time Entrepreneurship Development (ED) and Rural Development (RD) have positive partial correlation in the globalized world at local and rural level. It can be interpreted that there is inter and intra correlation among RE2+ED+RD=CD (Cooperative Development) in rural India. In India; there is a considerable gap between educated youth and employed youth where cooperative sector plays dominant role in rural area. The rural entrepreneurs are not acquiring and developing skills for solving the rural problems where cooperative sector have been playing the vital role. In brief sugar, textile, dairy, agro processing, cottage cooperatives have been playing significant role in the rural area.
